Got too big throughout the day. Bought them based on sizing chart. With this being the 2nd round and having to pay for returns, I’m just going to leave it be and see where else I can get jeans that will fit
I’m 5’4” and was between the size 30 and 31 fit (my hip/butt is 43” and waist at belly button is 32.5”), but only 31 was available. With that said, love the fit of these jeans in the hips, thighs and waist, but they are really wide/loose starting at the knees. I wish it had more of a tapered fit from hip to knee, before it started to flare. Just looks baggy and ill fitting. Also, I need to take off 2” from the bottom because these jeans were never offered in petite/short. Since the 2” off the bottom will make it a less flared look (Boot cut), the baggy knees will look even worse. Again, love the fit in the hips, waist and butt - but that’s about it.
I had purchased one of the skinny styles previously (button fly), and they are my go-to jeans now! I decided to try the Ellen's to replace some of my bootcut/flare jeans in my closet. They fit amazingly, this is the only brand that I can wear a higher rise, which I love. The only issue I have with the Ellen style is that they are too long for me, so I had to hem them about 2 inches.
The fit of these jeans is amazing. And, it was wonderful to finally find an athletic jean company that makes more than skinny jeans. But, for my tastes, the flare was way too drastic. It reminds me of bell bottoms. So, I will be returning them, so I can swap them for another pair of skinny jeans or shorts.
If a significant flare is what you are looking for, then the Ellen Flare is definitely the one you want. As with all Fran denim, they are well made, and ridiculously comfortable.
